The Workspace ![]() |
| Introduction This sheet just explains the main parts of the workspace that you should see when you open up the program. The screenshot below show the program open with the most useful pallettes and toolbars. There will be a further info sheet on the tools themselves (in section D on the screenshot). |
| Guide to Main Parts A - The Menus - Paintshop Pro is a Windows program and has a normal menu structure, with the most common menu optins on the left of the menu bar: File, Edit, View. Then there are the PSP8 specific ones: Image, Effects, Adjust etc. B - The Standard Toolbar. Again similar to most Windows applications. Other toolbars can be added here, using the View > Toolbars menu option, i.e. Effects, Status, Script. C - Tool Options - This is context sensitive and show the options of whichever tool you cirrently have selected. D - The Toolbar - Where you select which tool you want to use. (Refer to subsequent sheet for a guide to each of these). E - The Materials Pallette - Select the colours you want to use for the relevant tool (brush, line, text etc.). There are two main 'swatches' in this pallette; to set the 'foreground' and 'background' colour. F - Document overview - useful if you are zooming in on a picture. You can see where you are within the image on the small 'thumbnail' picture. G - Layers pallette - used for adding and removing layers. Also for controlling how a layer works (i.e. retouching effects). |
