Any digital photographer will get a lot out of exploring and using the web to find out more about shooting images, improving images, sharing images and getting images printed.

Investigate some of the links below - you are bound to find something to interest you (click on the image(s) to go):

One of the first and still for some, the best of the photo sharing sites, with 3 billion images and counting. It's been around for five years and you can join for free for a basic account. Share your images with family and friends by invitation or the world.
Be careful out there though. Sharing your images with everyone has potential pitfalls, such as unauthorised copying and altering of your images for purposes you might not be happy with!

Featuring amateur and professional photographers, this site has almost too much to look at and read. The forums are useful for reviews and opinions on the latest equipment and trends.

Check out the featured images for inspiration and more.

Lots of tutorials and help here. A bit biased towards Photoshop on first look, but there are Gimpshop features and tutorials. Very good for 'post production' how to's and tips and lots of camera reviews.

If you are looking to get into Photoshop, try www.photoshop.com, as it is the industry standard software's companion site. There's a free online 'lite' version of the program too.

SmugMug
Smugmug

The paid for alternative to Flickr. The cost may be worth it to you if you want unlimited photostorage (if you've got the time to upload them, you could back up all your digital photos on the site). Other advantages include freedom from ads and unlimited shot size.

GIMP
The Gimp's site

There is a site for the Gimp. Don't worry that its for the full version, rather than Gimpshop, it still has lots of useful stuff including tutorials (the link provided here). Most of the info and tutorials can be translated over to Gimpshop pretty easily.

Photobucket
Photobucket

If you are already a user of Myspace or Facebook, you are already using Photobucket - as it is where your images for those sites are stored.

It's a photo sharing rival to flickr and some find it less flashy and therefore easier to use.

Outdoors
Outdoor Photographer

Outdoorphotographer is allied to the american magazine of the same name, but don't let that put you off, if you are interested in landscape photography in any way there's plenty for you. Take a look at the professionals' galleries - there are some fantastic images.

Corbis
Corbis

There are numerous professional picture agency sites out there. This is one of the most stylish. Have a look round for inspiration and technique ideas.

This is a personal choice of mine - because I find it useful on several fronts. If you want quality images to add to yours for exciting montages etc. this is a great source and it's free (well almost).

It's free to sign up and there are loads of free images to download. Beware though that the search facility will first show you paid for images - scroll down for the free ones!

Your choice? I'm not being lazy - just inviting you to fill this slot yourself. Email me if you find a good site...
