Contains most of the tools familiar to Photoshop users, plus one or two more. just left click on a tool to select and then go to the canvas window to use it. The individual Tools will be covered separately in the exercises you will undertake during this course. B - The Canvas this is the current image you are working on. You can create new images and paint on them, but more frequently you will be opening existing images (from the samples page, but also from cameras and memory cards etc.). C - The Layers palette (also outlined in orange). Layers are a powerful feature of Gimpshop (in common with Photoshop) and allow you to create more complex images. D - The Tool control box (also outlined in purple). This is where you decide the main characteristics of the tool selected. It changes according to which tool you select (context sensitive). |
